THAT PINK COAT FROM BECKY HILL'S "LAST TIME" VIDEO
BECKY HILL GOT THE PINK COAT HERE!
We are very excited to announce that our Velvet Pink Faux Fur Coat has been featured in Becky Hill’s latest music video! Yes, that pink jacket - or is it fuchsia? And yes, it’s available online today. The video has almost 1.8 million views on Youtube! It is directed by Jordan Rossi.
It's always such a pleasure to have stylists choose our items for musicians to feature on stage or music videos. Experiencing our pieces come to life in form of artistic expression is something truly special.
LAST TIME - THE MUSIC VIDEO
The music video is a pop anthem about trying to make a relationship work hoping for it to be the “Last Time” they get back together. Produced by Lostboy, the music video features a night out in an attempt to forget about a love interest. Hill does so wearing our fuchsia jacket because one can assume that it is cold in the UK in the evening regardless of the weather. Always bring a coat on a night out. And why not THAT pink coat from Becky Hill's "Last Time" music video.
With over 18 million listeners on Spotify and over 1.5 billion combined streams, this makes Becky Hill the second-most streamed UK female solo act of 2019 and 2020.
WHERE DO I KNOW BECKY HILL FROM?
Completing the first series of “The Voice UK” in 2021 Becky Hill is now a pop singer with a large number of hits to her name. She had success with songs like “Overdrive”, “Afterglow”, “Piece of Me” and “Back and Forth” as a featured artist. Despite her label as a featured artist plays a large role in the creation of the songs. What you might not have known is that Hill herself writes the songs.
Hill was the most-streamed British female artist on Spotify UK in 2019. Her collaboration with DJ producer Sigala for the single “Wish You Well” did indeed do her well. Surprisingly enough, the music video for the song is one of few she's been featured in. Her voice carries the songs time and time again - why on earth did it take so long?
Without being the face of her voice, most of the time she is not recognised. There are good and bad aspects of this. Good: there's no harassment. Bad: less visibility leading to fewer business opportunities. And if you're going to try being more visible, wear THAT pink coat from Becky Hill's "Last Time" music video. You heard it here first, folks.
BECKY HILL’S LATEST ALBUM: GET TO KNOW
Her biggest songs “better Off Without You” and “Wish You Well” were about her current boyfriend and ex. The two broke up but got back together right before the pandemic. And that’s how her single “Last Time” came to fruition! He’s been a source of inspiration for her. “Sunrise In the East” was written about him, and she wrote, “I Could Get Used To This” just before their fourth date.
“I really want to show people another side of me and hopefully that’s what the album will do and people will see with Space that I’m not just a dance featured artist, I’m an artist within my own right,” continues Becky. “It will hopefully be the start of me taking over the rest of the world as well.”
It might come as a surprise, but “Get To Know” is her debut 2019 album! After making a name for herself as a featured act, Hill has been dropping singles in the midst of this year. Her latest album is going to be more pop than dance, amounting to songs she’s collected over the past nine years. You’ll get to hear a lot of pop synth stuff, as her notable influencers come from Robyn, La Roux and Passion Pit which shines through her album.
BECKY HILL STARTED A PODCAST ABOUT RAVES
Becky Hill has also started a rave podcast dedicated to her love of the music style called “The Art of Rave” including episodes with Basement Jaxx, DJ Zinc and many more. She started it in a quest to see if her generation had missed out on the best years of rave.
“I absolutely love dance music and particularly drum and bass, but I love heaving about people’s rave stories. I wanted to find out if my generation had missed out on the best years of rave.”
Listen to her podcast to learn more about the history of raves in the UK from DJ's and musicians. Learning something new when consuming media is always a plus, and you definitely get with her podcast.
THAT pink coat from Becky Hill's "Last Time" music video.
Inspired by the eccentricities of the candy man, the fuchsia coat has fur along with the lapel and sleeve opening. The faux fur-trimmed coat is a warming piece for chilly days when you need a pop of colour. LULA LAORA takes an ethical approach when it comes to fashion, that is why we only use faux fur for our products.
Cher Horowitz in the mid-’90s declared “it’s faux” during the peak of furry accents, which is where the Velvet faux fur pink draws inspiration. The real versus fake controversy man-made alternatives which questioned whether faux fur changed the. Fake fur used to be for the lower classes.
Both a political statement and a fashion statement, faux fur blurs the boundaries of fashion. That is why the 90's Fur Trimmed Coat keeps on returning.
You can style the jacket with a monochrome fuchsia outfit. If you want to maintain a more conservative look you can opt for a pair of jeans and a tee to spice up your look. Or maybe you mimic Hill's outfit, because it's THAT pink coat from Becky Hill's "Last Time" music video.
